Begonia Encanto, Million Kisses, Sparkle are all a new variety of begonia that can nicely take big doses of direct sun. This year we have Pinks, whites and rosy reds as well as the hot orange.
Go out in the field to dig your own begonias and you'll find some fantastic Giant flowered varieties and plenty of the easier Non_stop Begonias.Dig your own begonias cost less because you do the work.

There are other varieties of begonias to add color to your garden. Solenia, the easy rieger type of begonia, Angel wing or cane types 
for more upright affects.
Then there is the wonderful B Dragon Wings. Takes shade or sun.
Yes, they can get that large in one growing season, if you feed with Weidner's Good stuff. Other fertilizers are good too. Remember, the only miracle in fertilizer is you taking if off the shelf and using it!

Fuchsias belong in the garden is so many different ways. 
The easiest is planted in the ground in shady or semi shady garden areas. Why is that the easiest? The roots can then spread out and pickup moisture from a wide area. A fuchsia in a pot or basket is totally dependant YOU remembering to water. Oops, one mistake and you're in big trouble. Best insurance...an automatic watering system.
Fuchsia baskets are so beautiful and we usually have at least a hundred in the fuchsia show area waiting for you to choose the prettiest. We grow all of our own fuchsias so the varieties and quantities change daily as our crew picks the best to bring over to our retail show area.

In early spring the nursery is changing every day. Early fuchisas start appearing. Soon there are Basket types, uprights for the ground and trees too. Go to our Fuchsia page to see more pictures.
With the fuchsias come the earliest begonias. Tuberous begonias that you dig yourself in the Begonia field begin in May
Tuberous Begonias ready as early as April in pots and baskets straight from the greenhouses. Other begonias like Solenia and Begonia Dragon Wings.
By summer the impatiens look like big splashes of color. the Begonias are in full bloom. There is color every where you look. Plants for sunny & shady spots. Succulents to save water. New plants like the big white basket of Snow Princess are showing off. Of course, Snow Princess just keeps on blooming.
Come Labor Day the Retail Gates are closed. Sorry we missed you!
September and October are vacation months. Time for travel, time for doing all those many things that are always put off.
November 1 everything comes to life again. Pansy digging begis on November 1st. Not a minute before! The pansy field is always a big event. thousands of pansies for folks to dig.Field grwon pansie perform better in your garden. Test this out for yourself.
Now it is a good planting time for fall.
The greenhouses are filled with Poinsettias and the earliest cyclamen are coming on. This is the loviest season with the poinsettias making a fantastic show. It' likeone wonderful Holiday Open House.
December 22 and we are closed for about two weeks for the Holidays.
Full circle to January and February with bare root fruit trees. We call those months the Bridge or in between season. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the only day we are open for retail. An easier paced time.
Then come March 1st and it is off and running with more color flooding into the retail area every day. No matter when you come there is beauty all around you.We hope you enjoyed this little mini tour. Come and see for yourself.
