Prize winning Video
How do you get a new cement walkway to make that walk up the hill to the beautiful begonia show house? How do you do this when you don't have any extra money to spend putting in this walkway?
Good luck combined with a contest by Veritcal Response (the company that sends you our emails), and lots of you voting for Weidner's.
Here's what happened.
Vertical Response announced a national contest for Small Businesses. You were to make a short video about your business, why it was special and then what you would do with the money if you won. They would choose the best videos to be finalists and among the finalists the ones that got the most votes from visitors to the contest site would be the winners.
Kasey our office manager brought her video camera and we gave it a try. I was sure we didn't have chance. Noisy freeway, amateur video—we didn't have a chance.

We gave it a try and wonder of wonders we made the finals! Then it was like American Idol. We needed to get all of you to vote for our video.
We came in second and won $2,500 for the new cement walk. The walk actually cost $2,800 plus our own labor.
We invited anyone who could come to help decorate the walkway. Take a look at the video and then some pictures of the Cement being poured and the decorating.
